Welcome to BookishEnds!
Why choose BookishEnds?
I’m Alexia, and I want to help you get your story into the best shape possible!
I’m a great choice for people who want an honest reaction to their writing and actionable feedback. If you need guaranteed feedback on your writing by a certain deadline, hiring someone can be more reliable than hoping people follow through. I can also be with you for every book in your series.
My beta/sensitivity reading style is giving you a mixture of praise and suggestions. I will let you know what you’re doing well while also pointing out areas I think can be smoothed out for the reader. My hopes is that after you’ve received my report and comments, you’ll feel confident about your writing and empowered to share it with the world.
I’m a bookstagrammer, book blogger, and writer. I’ve read hundreds of books over the last few years, so I’m very in tune with the current market and genre conventions.

02. Sensitivity Reading
Writing outside of your own experience and culture? What to Expect
01. Sign on the dotted line
Once you fill out my contact form, I’ll send you my services and pricing guide through HoneyBook within 24 hours. Once we’ve made sure we’re on the same page and the timeline and pricing works for us both, I’ll send you a contract, so you can see all the terms outlined and pay for your service.
02. The adventure begins
Through your client portal in HoneyBook, you’ll send the document for me to work on, and it’s where I’ll deliver it back. It’s also where you can message me if you have any questions or concerns during the process.
03. Continued Support
After I’ve returned everything to you, you’ll have access to ask me any questions that come up during the rest of your writing/publishing process for this project. I’ll also send a brief questionnaire to know how your experience working with me went.
Frequently Asked Questions
What genres and age categories do you accept?
I have experience reading several different genres and all age categories (from picture book to adult). I also have no restrictions on subject matter or triggering content.
Genres I’ve beta read: Contemporary, Fantasy, Thriller, Mystery, Horror, Romance, Erotica, Historical Fiction, Science Fiction, Literary Fiction, Non-Fiction/Self-Help/Memoir, and Poetry.
Do you have a word count limit?
I accept documents up to 150k words.
Do you include inline comments?
Yes, my inline comments highlight the places the feedback in my reader’s report applies to and also show how I’m reacting to your work as a reader. I’m the person talking to the screen while watching a movie, except I’m doing it for your book.
What does the reader’s report entail?
Depending on the genre and content of your work, I will talk about a mixture of plot, dialogue, pacing, worldbuilding, character, and my overall impression. I’ll talk about all the elements you did well, and then go into the specific elements that I think need clarification, expansion, or reduction.
What is your preferred document format?
I accept either Microsoft Word or Google docs. If you wish to send a Google doc, I ask that you refrain from accepting/rejecting suggestions or resolving comments until after I’ve sent my report to you. For ease of reading, the document should use Times New Romans, 12pt font, and double spacing.
Can I send you a questionnaire in lieu of receiving a reader’s report?
Yes, but I only accept questionnaires with a maximum of 30 questions.
