September 2024 TBR
I’m usually not one to make TBRs because I’m a mood reader, and usually anytime I make a TBR I stray so far from it it’s almost embarrassing. I thought showing my September 2024 TBR would be a fun post though, so without further ado.
These first two don’t technically count since I started reading them in August as potential comps for the book I’ve written, but since I’m not done with them yet, they’re going on the list. I don’t know how she does it, but Emily Henry is so good at romance. I’m completely sucked into People We Meet on Vacation, which is my second book of hers, and I will definitely be reading the rest of her books this year (hopefully). Too Soon for Adiós has also been a really good read so far, and I’m really vibing with the main character.
I’ve really upped my nonfiction game this year, but since I’m trying to read books with similar elements to the fiction book I’ve written, I’ve had to put the nonfiction on pause for a bit. I’m hoping that I can read Disability Intimacy this month, but my hold on Libby expires in 9 days, so this might end up getting pushed to October. I loved Disability Visibility though, so I’m really excited to see what this one entails.
These next two are my hopefuls as getting to them/finishing them is dependent on how much time I have. The Two Lives of Lydia Bird is another potential comp, but it’s a looser one, so I might realize quickly after starting it that it’s not going to work. I’ll probably still finish it anyway if I’m liking the writing, but I’m not going to force it.
Furysong is the final book in The Aurelian Cycle trilogy, and this is one I’ve been putting off for months. I read the first two on audio on Libby, so I’ve been having to wait for the hold every time it lapses because the series is very popular at my library. But since it’s a 16 hour audiobook, I haven’t carved the time to listen to it, hence my hold lapsing several times. I have 17 days until it’s due, so I would love to finally finish this amazing series, but if it doesn’t happen, I have confidence I can finish it this year at least.
Other than these choices, I have some client books I’ll be working on and some reading I’ll be doing for my writing critique group, so it’ll be light on reading for fun on this month. If you’ve read any of these and have any opinions on them, please let me know!
